Wouter

Wouter Deneyer advises life sciences and other innovators on R&D & Licensing matters. He specializes in negotiations with universities, fee-for-service providers, and partners on strategic research collaborations and licensing.

Wouter has a particular expertise in international and domestic R&D collaborations and European and domestic funding schemes. He regularly advises on European collaboration projects under the Horizon 2020 framework (including PPP initiatives such as the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2), on nationally funded projects as well as on private collaborations between industry and academic associations.

Prior to joining Invigo in 2017, Wouter worked at the Life Sciences department of the boutique law firm Quinz (2012 – 2017) and the Corporate M&A department of the Brussels office of Jones Day (2008 – 2012). Wouter also worked in-house at the headquarters of an EFPIA company in Germany.

Wouter obtained his masters’ degree at the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven in 2008 (cum laude), and was an exchange student at the Duke University School of Law in 2008.

Wouter is a member of the Antwerp bar.

Aline

Aline Smits advises companies in the life sciences sector with a particular focus on data protection and privacy issues.

Furthermore, Aline also specializes in labor law, advising clients in both the individual as well as collective aspects of employment matters. She represents organizations and individuals in employment matters in court.

Aline obtained her masters’ degree at the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven in 2010 (cum laude). She also obtained a ‘master after master’ in employment law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (2011) (magna cum laude). Aline started her career at Allen & Overy LLP in 2011 and joined Invigo in 2017.

Aline is a member of the Antwerp bar.

Marianne

Marianne Claes advises clients on legal matters regarding IT services contracting (including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS related IT contracts) and on matters concerning IT security contracts. Marianne also has sound professional experience in commercial distribution agreements including commercial agency, franchise and reselling agreements.

Furthermore, Marianne also advises companies in the life sciences sector with a particular focus on public-private partnerships.

Prior to joining Invigo in 2021, Marianne worked as a lawyer at Eversheds in Brussels where she gained experience in commercial contracting and litigation. Marianne also gained experience as an inhouse lawyer at Proximus, a Belgian telecom operator, where she interacted closely with the business to build commercial partnerships and shape their distribution network.

Marianne obtained her master degree in law at the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven (2012) and added an LL.M in European law at the university Pantheon-Assas, Paris (2013) to her curriculum.

Marianne is a member of the Antwerp bar.

Maxine

Maxine Tignol is a junior associate at Invigo. She assists our clients on life science matters, commercial agreements, IT service contracting and data protection.

Maxine obtained her master’s degree in law at the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven in 2022 (cum laude) and was an exchange student at the University of Montpellier. In 2023 she obtained a master a in management at the Antwerp Management School (cum laude).

Maxine is a member of the Antwerp Bar.
